Saarang 2010 core team
The title of this post is the phrase that really struck me when I was surfing the web a few days back and got me thinking, because of the use of the word “aim”. I am sure all of us have heard variations of the same phrase which used the word goal, but never aim. And I guess the real reason it got me was that this is the philosophy behind the Saarang organizing team.
People have this way of looking at goals as fixed targets to be reached. This definition in itself is limiting at times. Substituting with the word “goal” with “aim” essentially gives us this philosophical leeway to explore all of our ideas, think out of the box and know that there are no limits to what we can achieve in these months leading up to Saarang.
Does this mean we don’t have any goals? Definitely not!! But rather than limiting targets, what we have for Saarang is a vision, a dream. Having worked with the team for the past few months, I can see the same thought process in all of them, using each target reached as a stepping stone for the next.
**Further surfing brought up the fact that this is one of the core philosophies of Toyota. Following in their footsteps, I guess we can’t be far off the mark now, can we?
